This position is contingent upon your ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret level clearance post-employment.
Serco supports the US Navy with the Government Owned, Contractor Operated (GOCO) Project Management System – Extranet Sites (PMS-ES) information system. PMS-ES was purpose-built to meet the data and workflow management needs unique to Navy acquisition programs and provides the ability to securely transmit and process information and data deliverables across the various ship design projects, activities, processes, and functions.
You will be part of a 15+ person team that works closely with the customer to deliver quality applications. The team has been recognized by the Navy for their outstanding contributions and was recently awarded a new 5-year contract to continue maintenance, administration, and development of PMS-ES.
In this role, you will:
- Design, develop, and maintain ColdFusion applications for PMS-ES.
- Contribute to all phases of the software development lifecycle.
- Write well designed, testable, efficient code.
- Conduct software analysis, programming, testing, debugging activities, and maintenance.
- Identify production and non-production application issues, develop solutions, and implement necessary changes.
- Generate reports based on data pull requests.
- Follow configuration best practices to manage all components of the application (software code, database, and infrastructure).
- Document all code changes.
- Document and track all system change requests and code updates.
Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Bachelor’s degree in a technical field and 8+ years of professional software development experience. Work experience may be adjusted based on education, or highly specialized knowledge or uniquely applicable experience for positions involving new technology or labor market shortages as reflected by market survey data.
- Must be a US Citizen and have the ability to acquire a Secret Clearance post-employment.
- 5+ years of experience using ColdFusion 2016 or newer.
- 3+ years of experience using RDBMS (Oracle/MS SQL Server).
- Expertise in web technologies including HTML5, CSS, JavaScript, SQL, and REST-based web services.
- Solid understanding of object-oriented software design and development.
- Solid experience in modern web UI design.
- Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication.
- Ability to work independently and within an integrated project team.
- Travel 10% required
Additional desired experience and skills:
- Experience working with version control (Git/GitLab).
- Experience with ColdBox framework (v4.x or later).
- Experience with Vue JS or other modern JavaScript frameworks (React, Angular).
- Experience with Bootstrap CSS (v3.x or later).
- Experience with PHP (v7.x or later).
- Experience with monitoring of Enterprise Applications for performance, uptime, and security.
- Experience troubleshooting, testing, and reverse engineering complex legacy applications.
- Experience in data migration, database schema design, and ability to write advanced SQL with complex joins.
- Understanding of key concepts of DevOps (CI/CD).
- Well versed with secure coding practices and exposure to code analysis tools to identify security vulnerabilities.
- Experience supporting DoD customers.
