Remote ColdFusion Developer (Contractor) – DDOTS, Inc. Location: Remote (Applicants must be able to complete all work within the United States) Position Type: Independent Contractor Compensation: Competitive; based on experience and qualifications About DDOTS, Inc. DDOTS, Inc. has been providing Clinical Trial Management System (CTMS) software for over 25 years to hospitals and research institutions, helping them efficiently manage clinical trials. As a small, agile team, we focus on delivering reliable, scalable solutions. We're seeking a ColdFusion Developer to maintain and enhance our enterprise application while contributing to modernization efforts. This is a fully remote role with flexible work arrangements. ________________________________________ Core Responsibilities • ColdFusion Development: Develop, maintain, and enhance ColdFusion-based applications, ensuring high performance, scalability, and security. • Database Management: Design, optimize, and execute SQL Server queries, including SELECT, INSERT, UPDATE, DELETE, UNION, subqueries, aliases, and joins. • Frontend Development: Implement and enhance JavaScript/jQuery functionality, ensuring responsive and user-friendly application behavior. • UI/UX Integration: Apply CSS styling and work with Bootstrap.js or be willing to learn. • Application Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve software issues, ensuring stability and security in a production environment. • Legacy System Maintenance: Support an existing enterprise application while actively participating in modernization efforts. • Security & Compliance: Follow security best practices, including two-factor authentication (2FA), secure password management, and data protection protocols. Assist in SOC 2 compliance and AWS security practices. • Independent Development: Write clean, maintainable code without reliance on frameworks or ORM solutions. • Infrastructure Awareness: Collaborate with the team on Windows Server/IIS administration tasks as needed. ________________________________________ Required Skills & Qualifications • 3+ years of experience in ColdFusion development (CFML and CFScript). • Strong knowledge of SQL Server and ability to write efficient queries. • Proficiency in JavaScript (jQuery preferred but not required). • Understanding of CSS and front-end frameworks (Bootstrap.js is a plus). • Ability to troubleshoot and debug applications independently. • Knowledge of secure coding practices in a cloud-based environment. • Strong communication skills and ability to work independently in a remote setting. • Must provide own computer hardware and high-speed internet connection. ________________________________________ Preferred (Plus-to-Have) Skills • AWS Experience: Familiarity with AWS security tools and cloud-based development. • SOC 2 Compliance: Understanding of compliance requirements for SaaS applications. • API Development: Experience designing and integrating RESTful APIs. • Windows Server/IIS Administration: Ability to assist with IIS configuration and performance tuning. • UI/UX Design Awareness: Experience improving the look and feel of enterprise applications. • Familiarity with Healthcare/Clinical Trials Industry: Understanding of Protected Health Information (PHI) compliance. ________________________________________ Additional Details & Compensation • Work Hours: Full-time with flexible scheduling. • Professional References: Candidates may be required to provide references to verify previous work experience and technical skills. • Background Check: Required due to access to sensitive Protected Health Information (PHI).
